TO THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE (PLEASE CHANGE THIS IF NECESSARY):
I would like to appeal to your good office for a change of schedule in the nursing program that I am currently enrolled in. At present, I am currently enrolled in the evening-weekend schedule. Initially, I wanted to register for the full-time morning program but unfortunately, I was informed that there were no more slots left. Nevertheless, I decided to enroll for the evening-weekend program because I did not want miss this semester and I am very eager to earn my degree as soon as possible. However, my current schedule has proven difficult for me because I am a single parent and I have to take care of my two children— one is 5 years old and the other is only 10 months old. I tried my best to have a baby-sitter watch over my children but it did not work out. As a result, I was forced to take my eldest daughter to my classes which I believe is unfair for her because she can no longer rest and study for her subjects in school during the weekend.
Although I am aware of the fact that the school policy forbids me from changing my program schedule, I still would like to humbly appeal to your office to please allow me to switch programs. Please understand that aside from being a student in the university, I am also a parent and I also have to ensure the welfare of my children. I also hope that you realize how painful it is for me to see my eldest child carry unnecessary burdens such as going to school with me on weekends when in fact, she should be studying or enjoying the weekend like most children do. While I am very determined to finish my degree in the university, I hope to accomplish that goal without affecting the normal lives of my children and still live up to my role as their parent. I sincerely apologize for all the trouble this request may cause you and I will be eternally grateful if my appeal is granted.
Very truly yours,
