Group of regular gym

As observed, some gym users with bigger physical built get their way and get the priority schedules. This starts with the registration of names where most of them do not write their names anymore; somebody else has to do it for them. Another instance of violation of the unwritten rules of the gym by regular users with bigger physique is the statement of Fabio Comana, a California exercise physiologist and a spokesman for the American Council on Exercise, a professional group.

He says, “One of his pet peeves is weight lifters not returning the plates (in the case of free weights) or pins (in the case of machines) to the level or place where they found them. ” [Regional Business News: Exercising Etiquette. Washington Times, January 1, 2006]. This is not a general statement though but rather this is a relative observation especially that we do not qualify the measurements when we say bigger built. Some, though, comply with the written rules by heart but this type also have no following and they just seem to complete their programs singly and on their own with much bother to others in the gym.

This latter group set themselves apart from the first group who carry their weight around. Size matters for this people who carry their weight around. CONCLUSION There are written and unwritten rules in the gym. Violations, while they are mostly done by starters for lack of sufficient knowledge, another group of regular gym users are also equally guilty of violating some unwritten rules in the gym. These regular gym users who fail to comply with the unwritten rules are those with the bigger physical built.

When you look at it from a third-party perspective, one could generalize and say that people with bigger physical built are more superior or enjoy a preference as against those with smaller physique and those who are new to the gym. However, it is not the intention of these people with bigger physical built to be treated with preference. Nor is it their intention to enjoy superiority in the gym. Their popularity and degree of influence in the gym is more out of respect for them and out of idolism. Size matters but it has never been imposed nor forced upon gym users to acknowledge or accept this fact.

Rather, it is the accommodation that all regular gym users afford upon those with bigger physical built as a sort of reward and recognition for the success they had reaped of the programs they implemented. While this study is limited to the extent of actual field observation, nevertheless, a further study may be undertaken on the gym culture. The degree and kind of interaction of gym users during workouts may have an impact on the success of the programs they implement for the development of their muscles or enhancement of body functions.
