A Family Nurse Practitioner is basically a registered nurse that mainly provides a wide range of health care services to people of all ages and families. In this regard, as I strive hard to become a certified family nurse practitioner, one of my short term goals is to be able to provide the best health care possible to my patients and ensure that their needs are met.
In addition, aside from providing extensive health care, I also plan to specialize in the prevention of certain diseases. I basically intend to seek additional studies on disease control, pathophysiology, and diagnostic reasoning because I believe that I would be able to provide better health care if I enhance my knowledge on these fields. Moreover, one of my major goals is to provide basic health care to needy people and people living in impoverished areas.
I believe that as a family nurse practitioner, my job is to provide health care not only to families and patients, but also to the people who do not have access to medical facilities. In other words, my role as a family nurse practitioner goes beyond the homes of the patients or families I am serving because I also have to do my best to serve the society which in live in. On the other hand, my long term goal is to establish a nursing home that specifically caters to the people may have been abandoned to their families.
In addition, as I run my nursing home, I would also constantly enhance my knowledge on fields that are pertinent to health care in general so that my skills are up to date. In short, I basically intend to work hard and continuously improve myself so that, eventually, I would become a highly adept and well-rounded family nurse practitioner who can make an impact on society.
