The mapping and expanding of the outpatient center took much time and deliberation with concern to rigid conditions, resources, the scheduling and expansion of the tangible structure and the interior design of the outpatient center. The venture in downtown’s well-known medical facilities is growing at a fast tempo, whereas University Hospital Health Care System is undergoing a $93. 6 million renovation and expansion project that started in 2003 that includes the outpatient center (University Health Care System, 2007).

In 2003, a working group consisting of board members, administration and more than 60 doctors and other health care providers position on the frontlines of patient care daily. They formed a design for the future of health care deliverance for the area for the next decade. The next year the hospital decided to serve the growing population, the organization would embark on a renovation and expansion development that would include a high-tech heart center, new and bigger operating rooms, a surgical family waiting area and a new outpatient center.

As the outpatient services escalated the awareness that the hospital had a critical care inpatient facility that adjusted more than 15 years offering outpatient services in different locations. The residents needed a more centered location for all the different type of services, in which constructing another entrance and shifting the parking area and registration closer will make the facility more accessible with a total encouraging outpatient experience.

Population Serving According to Reed the outpatient center served nearly 300,000 patients, whereas there was no single parking area, entry point, or registration area for these patients (University Health Care System, (2007). This facility provides a complete range of community health care and preventive services, such as the primary health care, heart and vascular, diabetes services, speech and hearing, home health and extended care, rape crisis and sexual assault services, physical and occupational therapy, and wound care.

The heart and vascular outpatient services provides the largest all-inclusive medicinal personnel in the area. Today this facility operates the most complete and ground-breaking heart and vascular services in the area with a comprehensive high-tech diagnostics, treatment and follow-up program. Another outpatient services is the rape crisis and sexual assault this is an act of violence, which is more common than the majority of people are aware of. Some of the services offered 24-hour crisis line, counseling, support groups, and community education program.

The rape crisis and sexual assault education awareness is usually center on conventional healing procedures. Description of the Facility Although outpatients’ facilities may differ in dimension and in services, all should have clear general features, such as competence and cost-effectiveness, flexibility and expandability, cleanliness and public hygiene, openness, and a healing atmosphere. This facility is operational with a recently extended flat parking area with handicap assistance with a safety employee on duty.

Some of the other features includes a smiling friendly face greeting and assisting patient with directions, call-ahead services with labs requests, new motorized beds in the pre-op testing quarter, and seven different registration locations to help accelerate the paperwork. Coming soon the center include two operational medical cubicles, whereas individuals can pre-register themselves or complete other actions such as paying or tracing his or her charges.

Conclusion One of the most central points in mapping and building a health care facility is guaranteeing all policy requirements are up-to-date concurrence to the city, state, and federal regulations.
