GYNAECOLOGY AND OBSTETRICS: Gynae and obs training with specific care in Labour and Eclampsia unit. 14 Week Dr. Selina Parvin, Professor, Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Involved in ward rounds individually as well as with consultants and registrars. • Skilled in clerking patients, organizing investigations, initiating and reviewing treatment. • Trained in counselling patients on medical disorders, taking consent in various procedures and breaking bad news • Communicate effectively with patients, their relatives, colleagues and other members of Multi Disciplinary Team including social worker, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, McMillan nurses etc.

PROCEDURES PERFORMED

I can perform IV cannulation, NG tube insertion, Wound dressing, Ascitic tap, Thoracocentesis, Lumber puncture, Urethral catheterisation and Wound suturing independently with confidence.

Research : “A study on mortality pattern among children admitted in the paediatrics inpatient department of Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital”.

PRESENTATIONS
These following topics were presented by me in different weekly Clinical Seminar or Clinical meeting: 1. A case of Spastic quadriplegia due to pontine & extra pontine myelinolysis following rapid correction of hyponatremia. 2. A Case of Peripheral Vascular Disease.

I am highly motivated, efficient, honest, hard working and reliable team worker having very good communication, listening and organizing skills. I know the importance of documentation and I am a master of it. I have fair knowledge about research work. I have very good knowledge about international patient safety goals, infection control policy, patient and family rights etc. Moreover, I have a very good communication skill with patient and family.
