Severe obesity is a key problem not only in the USA

: Severe obesity is a key problem not only in the USA, but in many other countries in the world. Recent investigations show that during the last years obesity rates have practically doubled. Sever obesity is a chronic condition that is associated with increased risks not only of diabetes mellitus, but also with heart failures, hypertension and some forms of cancer. Therefore, weight loss surgery is of great help in case of severe obesity which is difficult to treat. The primary purpose of research is to present benefits of weight loss surgery in treating severe obesity in adults and children.

The concept of weight loss surgery has grown out of cancer and severe ulcer operations when large portions of stomach were removed to control obesity. Thus, doctors began to use weight loss operations to treat severe obesity as surgery gives an opportunity to loose weight rapidly and to continue loosing weight until 24 months after the operation. Audience: The intended audience will be classmates and professor who are interested in becoming aware of key benefits of loss weight surgery. Moreover, researchers and scientists may find research valuable in promoting weight loss surgery.

Position: I stand for weight loss surgery because after weight loss operations the overall health of the patients improves. A number of studies show that a healthier life is waiting for those who decide to undergo weight loose surgery because many of health conditions associated with severe obesity will be no longer a problem. Thesis: Weight loss surgery is effective in fighting severe obesity as patients are provided with opportunity to return to normal physical activity and to improve overall health.

In particular, loosing excessive body weight will result in decreased risks of developing diabetes, hypertension, heart attacks, and some forms of cancer. Weight loss surgery returns blood sugar levels to normal after the operation. Weight loss surgery restores patient’s health and regains his life.
