Ebola, also known as hemorrhagic fever, is a disease caused by infecon with one of the virus
strains. It can cause disease in humans and primates such as monkeys, gorillas, and chimpanzees. Ebola
was $rst iden$ed near the Ebola River in 1976 and occasionally spurred outbreaks in Africa.
Recently, the Ebola Virus has been con$rmed to be diagnosed in the United States. The $rst case in the United
States was discovered in a man who traveled to Dallas, Texas from Liberia. Since the occurrence of the
$rst case, 3 more cases have evolved.
