Prevention Is Better Than Cure

Year after year, human beings have coped with many issues such as disease, keeping us from enjoying a healthy life. Scientists with financial support from government have discovered various medical treatment against them. However, some people hold the viewpoint that even without help from country’s budget, it is essential for our future to take money from treatment to invest in health education and preventative measures. On one hand, it is undeniable that health education and preventative measures are necessary to our lives.

Firstly, they can help us to avert lots of diseases. For instance, children taught to have a healthy diet and exercise everyday will have proper nutrition and be able to raise their antibodies necessary to fight a virus. Besides, it is arguable that the budget invested in preventative measures is much less than the amout spent on treatment. This is illustrated by the fact that there are many people who suffer from perilous and fatal diseases have to pay astronomical costs while those diseases can be easily prevented with a healthy lifestyle.

On the other hand, some people have other reasons to believe that treatment is more important. Firstly, it is extremely money-consuming if we throw money away to educate people who are already sick how to prevent a disease. What the government should do is to put money into treatment, which satisfy patients’ demand of recovering their healthy lives. Also, people who suffer from innate diseases such as haddicapped children do not have a chance to practice appropriate prevention.

In such cases, spending money on prevetative measures and health education do not prove to be effective. Instead, we should help them to improve their health. Secondly, it takes us a long time to make health education popular everywhere especially in rural area. While spending too much time educating peple, we can use country’s budget to discover treatment for a disease. I believe in the proverb “prevention is better than cure” and in other words, prevention should be an important issue we should aim at.

Improving health education and preventative measuresare the best way to avoid diseases. However, it should be emphasized that treatment is extremely significant to people eho have diseases, especially those without effective prevention. On balance, it is possible to say that both preventation and cure are of significant importance to our lives. If one of them are omitted, this world may slowly die off.
