I suggest a salary of about $ 84000pa. The amount is within the $70000-$90000 pa. that is received as compensation by many advanced nursing specialist. The current economic conditions are quite harsh, the failure of financial markets and the credit crisis that resulted from it have led to a situation where individuals have to reap the most out of their occupations. Nursing being my full time occupation, I need to gain enough financial resources from the efforts that I will direct to nursing to sustain my family.
Secondly, a key aspect in advanced nursing is the need for continuous learning and diversification. Advanced learning in the US is expensive and quite resource intensive. To ensure professional advancement through training individuals should have considerable amounts of resources to gain access to good colleges and ensure that their studies carry on with ease. Cost of gaining additional training so as to stay in touch with principles of advanced nursing is an important consideration in coming up with the salary expectation.
Furthermore, advanced nursing is a complex field of operation and the stakes involved in performance failure are high. The levels of exertions and skill required in advanced learning calls for highly qualified professionals. The skills that such professionals provide and the levels of efficiency that will come with the application of my experience and expertise are high; this calls for larger compensation. It should be noted that the expertise of some advanced nurses comes at a costs of $90000, but healthcare being both a social system and service industry ethical considerations require workers to be considerate.
These ethical considerations are responsible for the reduction in the cost of my services to $80000 pa. In summary, the social system and healthcare needs are undergoing constant change. As a result the healthcare system in America faces a number of challenges ranging from rising costs, aging populations, introductions on newer technologies, shortages of professions and difficulties in accessing healthcare (Cody & Kenney, 2006).
There is therefore need for advanced nursing which is defined within the legal framework as a description of an advanced level of nursing that maximizes the use of graduate education, in-depth knowledge and expertise in nursing to meet the health needs of individuals, families, communities and populations.
