In Egyptian times they used to perform mummi”cation as you already know , but did you this was a medical procedure. Mummi”cation was a medical procedure because they would remove vital organs form the dead body. You may think this is strange but they would throw away the brain as the thought it would pump blood around the body and not the hart. They would remove other organs from the body and place them in the Canopic jars but the weird thing is how they removed the brain they would stick a metal rod up there nose , to remove the brain.
The bad thing about Egyptians is that they didn’t have any knowledge of germs so people could easily catch infections or diseases. Egyp? an’s religion EGYPTIAN MEDICINE WAS HIGHLY IN? UENCED BY RELIGION , THIS IS BECAUSE THEY LIKED TO FOLLOW THE WAY OF THERE GODS THIS HAD A BAD IMPACT IN THEIR MEDICINE . THIS CAUSED THERE TO BE PRIEST’S AS DOCTORS AND MAGICIANS ALSO. THIS MENT THAT EGYPTIANS WOULD END UP WITH BAD HEALTH CARE , (NO NHS). SO I WOULD GIVE THE EGYPTIANS A 7/10.
The Romans The Roman times were not much of a leap from the Egyptian times but they did make a few steps along the way. But before we can say the good things we must say the bad. The “rst thing I will mention is that if the so happened to have a wound they would simply go to a stall and bye a fake replica of what ever part of the body was causing them pain and go and pray to it. They would also go to market and bye healing remedies and spells. But most of the time the would not work and would be fake. They could even be things like drinking disguised wee. Have you ever heard of Galons famous pig experiment?…. NO ? Well I will tell you all about it .
Galon worked as a surgeon in a gladiatior school, and wanted to make a name for himself and left for Roam. Just outside of Roam he found a farm, he asked to bye the fattiest noised pig they had to conduct his experiment no!. He started by gathering some wane be doctors to show his experiment to, he took them to a room and tied the pig down. He started by slicing open the belly and showing them how the basic organs worked. Then he demonstrated that the hart pumped the blood round the body and not the brain. After he stitch up the pig and looked after it as his own.
• Roman Religion Most Roman medicine was not highly based on religion. This is because the would absurd their patients and not let the gods do all of the dirty work instead of the doctors in the hospitals But the most crazy idea they had was to go to a stall at the market place to bye what ever part of their body was hurting them, (the limb would be made out of wood or other Cheep materials, one they had acquired it they would go to the temple or to their house and they would pray to it thinking it would make them feel better after. So it’s a……4/10.
