Introduction: There are a number of possible advantages and disadvantages associated with being male or female. These do not necessarily apply to all males or females. But this list will show you some of the upsetting facts that come with being male or female. Advantages of being Male: •Praised as studs for having several sexual partners •Males have a shorter life expectancy of 79 years of age •Males are more likely to see combat in war than women •Males are more likely to be promoted into high paid jobs •Males are trusted with more independence than women.

•You don’t get attacked by people in hockey masks •Males have more chance for getting property •Males are more likely to get retirement funds that women •Males are more likely to get long service leave •Male phone conversations go for 30 seconds flat •Males are lees likely to get abused than females •Males are more likely to be in a managerial or boos jobs •Males cannot get cervical cancer •Males cannot get ovarian cancer •Males are less likely to get breast cancer •Males are less pressured to do house work than females.

•Males are less worried about there body image than females •Males do not need to spend a lot of money on looking good •If males go to the mechanics they get told the truth about what is wrong with the car Basically males are more likely to be entrusted with a lot more independence than women and that leads to then fighting in the front line in wars and getting higher paid jobs. Also with more independence it leads to getting boss jobs and owning companies and being in charge. Disadvantages of Male:

•10 percent fewer boys complete year 10 •75 percent of school suspensions are boys •60 percent of school counsellor referents are boys •Nine times as many boys are in special classes for emotional and behavioural disturbances •Three times as many boys are in language or intensive reading classes •Boys do considerably worse at Basic Skills English tests at all stages •Boys die from injuries at twice the rate of girls •Juvenile males are nine times more likely to commit serious assaults •Young males suicide at five times the rate as girls

•Boys are nine times more likely to be killed at work than young women •97 percent of those who have HIV- positive are males •On any one day in Australia there are 1100 boys and 200 girls in jail •Males can get testicular cancer •Males can get prostate cancer •Males have pressure not to sow emotions in public •Males have pressure to be seen as Physically strong •Males have dating expectations (e. g. Paying for everything, Making the first move) Basically the disadvantages of being male is that sometimes they cannot control there emotions (e. g.Anger, Anxiety) and they get into a lot of trouble for that.

Mostly males that don’t control there emotions end up in special classes in schools or being recommended to a counsellor or even worse ending up in jail. Another is that boys are expected to hold in there emotions to seem tough but when they do let out there emotions they are seen as weak. Advantages of being female: •Women can show there emotions •The Live expectancy of females are longer than males •There are 1100 males in jail but only 200 girls in jail in Australia •Only 25 percent of school suspensions are females.

•Girls are less likely to be in language or intensive reading classes •Only 3 percent of people that are Hiv – positive are females •Females cannot get Prostate cancer •Females cannot get testicular cancer which is obvious •Young females suicide rate it five times less than women •Only 40 percent of school counsellor referrals are women •Females are nines less likely to be killed at work than boys •Boys die from injuries at twice the rate of girls All up women are more from free to show there emotions than boys and this causes less suicides and counsellors referrals.

Also they are less likely to take up a job that could be dangerous so they are less likely to die at work. Also females live expectancy is longer than males which count in the long run. Disadvantages of females: •Sticky floors (stuck in the lower paid Positions) •Glass ceilings (can see the managerial jobs but can’t get to them as easily as males) •Less chance of getting property •Less likely getting retirement savings ( super annuation) •Less likely to have long service leave •Abused (eg. Slut, Slapper) for having several partners.

•More likely to be victims of domestic violence and sexual assault •Wages/income on average are lowers than males •Less likely to be the boss or in managerial positions •Cervical cancer •Ovarian cancer •More likely to be victims of breast cancer •More pressure to do house work and look after children •Body image issues •90 percent of women are not happy with there body image •80 percent of 332 were not content with there body image •Make up: more pressure to spend money to look good Well for women they have a lot more pressure to look good than boys it’s a good thing for some and a bad thing for others.

Also some girls are pictured as dumb and mass consumers and that stops them from getting some loans and being trusted. Another thing is that women are seen as being weaker than men so they are more likely to be physically assaulted by males. Conclusion: I think males and females are equal we both have a lot of advantages and disadvantages. Females can’t do some of the stuff males can and males can’t do some of the stuff females can. So I think everything should be equal for females and males.
