The insured hospital services delivered through nine District Health Authorities and the IWK health center. At present more than 35 facilities are being provided. INPATIENT SERVICES 1. Drugs, biological and related preparations 6. Routine surgical supplies 7. Use of operating room, case room and anesthetic facilities 8. Use of radiotherapy and physiotherapy services 9. Blood or therapeutic blood fractions
OUT PATIENT SERVICES 1. Laboratory and radiological examinations 2. Diagnostic procedures involving the sue of radio-pharmaceuticals 3. Electroencephalographic examinations 4. Use of occupational and physiotherapy facilities wherever applicable 5. Necessary nursing services 6. Drugs, biological and related preparations 7. Blood or therapeutic blood fractions 8. Hospital services in connection with most minor medical and surgical procedures 9. Day-patient diabetic care 10. Services other than medical services provided by and within the No Scotia Hearing and Speech clinics 11.
Ultrasonic diagnostic procedures 12. Home parenterel nutrition. The medical service insurance programs will be governed by Medavie Blue cross on behalf of Nova Scotia government. There will no premium payment but Nova Scotia health card should be carried at all times when the eligible residents go to the treatment.. It is governed under Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP). The scheme provides physician and specific dental and oral surgical health services to the residents of Alberta. Those who enrolled under this plan have two premiums, if they have not qualified for full premium assistance. There are two premium rates. For a single person coverage $44 per month and for family coverage $88 per month. This premium can be directly by the individual or through the employer/union. The premium assistance available to the seniors and the seniors need they are exempt form paying Alberta Health Care Insurance Premiums.
