This popular saying is what most people use in order to emphasize the importance of having a healthy body. All individuals need quality health care so that they could properly function and perform their everyday activities. In line with this, the government has the responsibility in seeing to it that the needs of those they lead are properly given. Quality health care is among the basic needs of the people that is essential for them to be able to live a decent life.
However, there are observable problems in giving the people the quality health care that they need because of problems that must be immediately address. Rendering quality health care to its citizens is also one of the challenges that the United States of America has to face. Among the problems that the country must face is the increasing cost of quality health care as well as unequal access to such kind of services. Despite the fact that the U. S.
is considered as one of the most industrialized countries in the world, it belonged in the lower level of rankings when it comes to the quality health care that it gives. The main dilemma in giving a quality health care system is the fact that there are many stakeholders that are involved, which tends to make policy-making very difficult for the government. In line with this, there are proposals of letting the market get involved in a country’s health care in order to modify the system.
Those who support this idea believes that this will make health care costs more affordable because of the competitive nature of the market. Nevertheless, there are still those who believe that the government should take on a more active role to address the problems (University of Maine, 2001). There are different ways to improve the quality of a country’s health care system. Nevertheless, the most important thing is for this issue to be immediately and properly address because it involves the well being of numerous individuals.
Good health is among the basic needs of an individual, which he or she deserves to have because it is included in his or her human rights.
