This include the following, bleeding emergencies, shock, burn care, muscle strains and sprains, dislocation and fractured bones, sever allergic reactions, poisoning and bites and stings and other In every procedure that to be done in a client, there should be special process or what we call protocol that need to use, especial emphasis in assisting in an emergency situation. According to the American Safety and Health Institute (2003), The first step to be made is to assess the emergency scene for safety.
Also, the observer must also assess if he or she is safe to approach the victim or the person who is in need. During the assessment period, the observer uses or utilizes all of his senses and look for any danger , listen for any crashing, screeching noises, smell the air. Make sure that you are not going to create injury while assisting the victim. Otherwise, if you feel that the danger level is high, immediately call the EMS (advanced medical help) and notify other bystanders of the dangers present at the scene of the emergency.
If the scene appears to be safe, approach the victim and assess him for responsiveness and lastly gently tap the victim and ask “Are you Alright? ”. It is said that, if the victim is unresponsive or has an altered level of consciousness, an EMS must be alerted. If the helper is alone in the location and the victim is unresponsive adult, immediately locate the phone and call the EMS. Then go back again to the victim. If a bystander is nearby, send the bystander to notify EMS and immediately attend to the victim.
If so happen that the victim is unresponsive child and no one is available to call EMS for you, attend to the victim and provide one minute of care, then call EMS. The procedure above presents to be an easy one, but it should be done accurately and exactly in order to preserve the intactness of the victim and the environment. A person who is undergo to this kind of special training, he or she must also consider the age and sexual orientation of the victim and its cultural orientation.
He should anticipate the common types of accident according developmental age, this also determine the type and the procedure to be performed in a victim. Each of us must be aware of the different ways to help other people during in a disaster or accident. I believe that it is in the human nature to help other people who is in compromised time, but then lack of information on how to help or what would be the procedure to be done in a client, will act as a barrier in helping the victim.
As one of the health care team, we are obliged to know, learn perform, practice and be applied all of the principles in a reality. It is indeed, that each time a person help and save the victim in a traumatic scenario, the feelings is great and sometimes thinking that they are “heroes. ” I believe in a saying “do ut des” in English I give that you give. I give my service to others so that they will help me also when I’m down or in need.
