As a small boy, I was very frail and used to suffer from health problems often. Owing to weak health, I was always on medication. I also have memories of my grandmother, who died of leukemia. The death of a loving and caring grandmother coupled with my own need to be on medication frequently, incited me to know more about medicines. I vowed to contribute to the pharmacological field by helping to discover medicinal cure for disease as a pharmacist. I have been a volunteer in a pharmacy store since 2006 and have been working in it after school hours.
Initially I was responsible for filling, counting and assorting the medicines. I used to receive the clients and gave them introduction about the medicines. This work experience gave me a wealth of hands-on knowledge of pharmacy. I cultivated an interest in pharmacy during this tenure. I have a strong desire to study pharmacy from a prestigious university and therefore I wish to apply to your institute. Knowing the advancement of medical study in the United States, I am certain that this is the perfect opportunity to pursue my interest in pharmacological studies.
I have the determination and attitude towards making great efforts to achieve my goals. I believe that my strong resolve along with personal interest will enable me to get a degree in pharmacology and be a licensed pharmacist. Being a pharmacist is the biggest goal of my life. I strongly believe that an education in pharmacy from a prestigious university like yours will equip me to be able to help people who suffer from grave ailments. A career in health care is the biggest aspiration of my life and I look forward to attaining that by doing a major in pharmacy.
