Chronic gonadotropin is a drug that has actions similar to the lutenizing hormones, which is produced by the pituitary gland. This hormone is also produced by placenta during pregnancy. This drug has different uses for females and males. In females it can be used to help conception occur. It is usually used with a combination of drugs once a woman has already tried clomiphene. Chorionic gonadotropin can also be used in in vitro fertilization. In males it is used with a combination with LH to help stimulate the testes to produce male hormones and sperm. When one gains weight and fatty tissue around the midsection they may develop the sign of moon faced. One may also notice their skin is thin, fragile and is slow healing. Addison’s Disease Addison’s Disease is a disorder that occurs when your body does not produce an adiquete amount of certain hormones produced by your adrenal glands. When this happens, your bones increase in size, including those of your hands, feet and face. Acromegaly usually affects middle-aged adults but can affect children who are still growing. The children that are growing have too much growth hormone. This can cause them to be abnormal in height and have abnormal bone growth. Because it is a gradual illness it is often not recognized in a timely manner and can cause serious illnesses and even can be life- threatening. Cretinism Cretinism commonly known as Congenital hypothyroidism. It is genital hypothyroidism is a disease of the thyroid gland.

The main hormones secreted by the thyroid gland are mostly thyroxine and a small amount of triiodothyronine. Thyroid hormones have wide-ranging effects on metabolism affecting most organ systems in the body. The secretion of thyroid hormones is stimulated by thyrotrophin which is secreted from the pituitary gland, which is in turn secreted in response to thyrotrophin releasing hormone, secreted by the hypothalamus. It can occur in the newborn or in a normal adult. If it affects a newborn it may be a result from absence of or abnormal development of the thyroid gland. Overuse of Anabolic Steroids.

Anabolic steroids are used for several reasons such as: helping a person to gain weght after a severe illness, injury, to treat types of anemia and to treat certain breast cancers in women. Hormone therapy is a common treatment used in men with stage 4 prostate cancer. Hormone therapy is treatment to stop your body from producing the male hormone testosterone or to block the effects of testosterone on the cancer. Prostate cancer cells rely on testosterone to help them grow. Cutting off the supply of hormones may cause the cancer to shrink or to slow its growth.

Falling levels of male hormones in aging males Testosterone peaks during adolescence and early adulthood. As you get older, your testosterone level gradually declines about 1 percent a year after age 30. It is important to determine in older men if a low testosterone level is simply due to the decline of normal aging or if it is due to a disease.
